MIANWALI, Nov 15: Police has booked a man under section 10 of Hudood law who was helping a woman, Anaran Bibi, 30, in dissolution of her marriage with a retarded person from whom her father had allegedly received Rs70,000 for tying the knot.

Meanwhile, District and Sessions Judge Baqir Ali Rana has ordered registration of a case under section 354-A PPC against four relatives of Anaran Bibi’s husband who tried to kidnap her while she was on her way to the court along with her relative Hameed Ullah Khan to pursue the marriage dissolution case.

The accused had torn off the woman’s clothes during the abduction bid, which was foiled by some local youths who were witnesses to the crime.

Strangely, Hameed Ullah Khan is now behind the bars under charges of committing adultery.

Reports said Anaran Bibi (30) of Sawans village was first married to one Latif. During ten years of her marriage, she gave birth to three daughters. Later, Latif divorced her for not giving birth to a son. The daughters had to stay with the father according the to the local custom.

After the divorce, Anaran Bibi strated living with her father Aalam Khan. Two years later, in August 2006, Alam again married her off to one Ghulam Abbas, a deaf and dumb man of Bhore Sharif of Isakhel tehsil after receiving Rs70,000 from him.

After fifteen days of her marriage, she left her retarded husband, and got admitted into local Darul Aman with the help of her remote relative Hameedullah Khan, who also assisted her in filing a marriage dissolution case.

On October 20, her husband, with the abetment of her father and his four relatives tried to kidnap her when she was going to the court, escorted by Hameedullah. However, two youngsters present on the scene, rescued her and the perpetrators fled away.

However, city police on the complaint of Alam Khan (father) registered the case against Hameedullah.

Meanwhile, Anaran Bibi filed an application with session court seeking legal help. The judge, after getting report from the district police officer ordered registration of case against the four accused.
