RAWALPINDI, Nov 14: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz met President General Pervez Musharraf in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister briefed the President about his recent visit to the United States where he represented Pakistan at the United Nations panel aimed at revamping the UN system. He also briefed the president about his meeting with US investors and the Global Micro-Credit Summit in Halifax, Canada. The two leaders also exchanged views on the prevailing political environment as well as law and order in the country, with special reference to the recent suicide bombing at Dargai.

President Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz expressed their grief over the tragic loss of life and reiterated the firm resolve of the government to combat the forces of terrorism and extremism with unwavering determination.

The two leaders expressing their sympathy with the bereaved families assured that the government would provide all necessary assistance to them.—APP
