CHAKWAL, Nov 14: Thirty-two Indian Hindu pilgrims were given a warm welcome on their arrival at Katas Raj here on Tuesday. Some 200 Indian Hindus were being expected on the occasion, but it is said that visa problems prevented them from undertaking the pilgrimage.

The 32 pilgrims, including six women, were received by Choa Saiden Shah Nazim Raja Nasir Jamal.

Speaking on the occasion, group leader Vaneed Surain said the pilgrims had come with a message of peace and love from the people of India. He said resumption of talks between the two neighbouring countries was highly appreciated in India.

He was confident that in the near future problems between Pakistan and India would be settled through dialogue as peoples of both countries did not want any bloodshed or war.

Mr Surain suggested that the people from both sides should visit each other’s country, and that the visa policy should be relaxed.

Meanwhile, the local administration has made special arrangements for the Hindu pilgrims and deployed elite police units around their lodging facility.—Correspondent
