Salman rescues NBP with 70

KARACHI, Nov 13: Salman Butt scored 70 in the second innings of the defending champions National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) after being forced to follow on by Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) in their Patrons Trophy grade-I four-day match at the NBP Sports Complex on Monday.

By stumps on the third day, NBP were 134 for three in their second innings. They had scored 202 in their first innings in reply to ZTBL’s 440. Salman hit 11 fours in his 148-minute innings.

Naumanullah scored 48 runs on 47 deliveries with nine boundaries. Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of 83 for five, NBP had been bowled out for 202. Fawwad Alam hit 56 with three boundaries.

Rao Iftikhar took four wickets for 104 runs in 29.4 overs for the ZTBL.
