SAHIWAL, Nov 13: A local court on Monday granted pre-arrest bail to a private school principal and her teacher till Nov 29 in a case registered against them for giving a rough treatment to a minor student.
The judge also asked the police to produce the record of the case in the next hearing.
The private school principal Alia Ahsan and her teacher Shaista had reportedly subjected to violence minor girl student Eman Aasha on March 10, 2006. Police had registered a case and were conducting raids for the arrest of the principal and the teacher.
Meanwhile, the same court also granted protective pre-arrest bail to Syed Ghulam Shah, a bureau chief of Sahiwal of a Lahore-based daily, till Nov 22.
The accused was directed to get his pre-arrest bail from the relevant court in Lahore. Lytton Road police, Lahore, had registered a theft case against the accused on Oct 20.
FOUR KILLED: Four people were killed and 36 others suffered injuries, 17 of them serious, when a bus overturned near Gamber on Lahore-Multan Road on Monday.
Reports said that the speeding bus (LRJ-3667), going to Haroonabad, overturned while overtaking a donkey cart. Consequently, Abdullah (6) of Haroonabad, Babar of Fort Abbas, security guard Hanif and an unidentified man died instantly while 36 received injuries. They were rushed to Sahiwal DHQ Hospital and CMH Okara Cantonment. Those injured seriously were identified as Abdul Raoof, Habibullah, Murtaza, Abid, Tasleem, Waqar, Kamran, Yaseen, Sarwar, Haji Bashir, Naeemul Haq, Asif, Bilal, Mst Sardaran, Mst Naseem Kamran, Rabia and Adeela.
Cantonment police have registered a case against the absconding driver.
