‘385,000 children to be immunised’

PESHAWAR, Nov 13: About 385,000 children will be administered polio drops during the national anti-polio campaign that is starting from Tuesday (Nov 14), according to Swat’s District Naib Nazim Malik Sadiq Khan.

He said this while inaugurating the anti-polio campaign in Khpal Koor Model School in Saidu Sharif Swat.

Dr Khurshid, WHO representatives Dr Merritee and Shaukat Khan attended the inaugural ceremony.

The district naib nazim highlighted the hazardous effects of polio and urged the people, especially parents, to ensure that polio drops were administered to each and every child to make the district polio-free.

Later, Malik Sadiq initiated the anti-polio campaign by administering polio drops to the children below the age of five years.

The Naib Nazim Malik Sadiq Khan also participated in a walk which was part of the public awareness drive.—APP
