NAWABSHAH, Nov 11: The district and sessions judge on Saturday rejected the applications for bail of two former members of Lyari Task Force (LTF) DSP Irfan Bahadur and Inspector Syed Safdar Ali Shah accused of involvement in killing Rasool Bux Brohi in a fake encounter.

Former head of LTF SP Chaudhry Aslam and Inspector Baharuddin Babar withdrew their applications for bail as the judge Ghulam Qadir Leghari adjourned the case till December 9.

All but one police officials accused of involvement in the murder, DSP Irfan Bahadur, Inspector Sarwar Khan alias Commando, Inspector Baharuddin Babar, Inspector Nasirul Hassan, Inspector Mohammad Ishaque, Inspector Syed Safdar Ali Shah, SI Asif Jameel, SI Mir Farosh, SI Mujeebur Rehman, ASI Abdul Ghani, ASI Mohammad Iqbal, Head Constable Syed Bahadur Shah, Constable Hidayatullah and Nazeer Ahmed alias Nazroo were produced in the court under tight security to attend the case’s hearing.

Former head of LTF SP Chaudhry Aslam Khan did not appear on medical grounds. His counsel submitted a medical certificate issued by medical officer, Karachi central prison.
