34 held with charas, liquor

ATTOCK, Nov 11: Police on Saturday arrested 34 people during a campaign against anti-social elements and seized 99 kilograms of charas, 89 bottles of liquor, 25 pistols and fake currency worth Rs25,000.

On a tip-off, police started searching vehicles at the Haro Toll Plaza on G.T. Road and recovered 90kg charas from a car coming form Peshawar. However, the driver escaped.

The Attock Khurd police seized 9kg charas from a van coming from Peshawar and arrested Nadeem Shahzad and Sajjad Hussain. The Hasanabdal police arrested Liaqat Ali and recovered 77 bottles of liquor.

The Basal police arrested a man with fake currency worth Rs 25,000. The Hazro police arrested four men from a gambling den and recovered 11,000 rupees from them. The Attock police arrested 25 people with illegal pistols and registered cases against them.—APP
