LAHORE, Feb 15: No US investigation agency was probing the affairs of any religious seminary in the country, Interior Minister Moinud Din Haider said on Friday.

Talking to reporters after inaugurating Nadra’s swift resource centre here, he denied a report carried by a local Urdu daily that the FBI was investigating the business of five seminaries.

He declared the report as “media terrorism” aimed at creating unrest among religious elements against the government.

A team comprising a reporter of the paper concerned, a public representative and an official of the interior ministry should investigate the matter and then publish the facts at the same page with the same display which was given to the “misleading” news report, he demanded.
