ISLAMABAD, Nov 9: Joint secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Siddiqul Farooque has said that nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan is in critical condition. He accused the government of having adopted a course which had endangered the life of Dr Khan. If he dies, it will be an unnatural death and, logically, Gen Musharraf will be responsible for that," Mr Farooque said at a news conference here on Thursday.

Mr Farooque said that Dr Qadeer had sent a message to his friends on Monday saying that he was "in a tight squeeze".

He claimed that when Dr Khan had wanted Dr Adeeb Rizvi to operate upon him, but it was done by other doctors and these doctors were authorised to issue statements on his health condition and to talk to the press. The biopsy report of Dr Khan had also not been released so far, he said.
