Over 50 PPP workers held in Sialkot

SIALKOT, Feb 15: The local police arrested over 50 PPP activists and injured 15 others when the protesters turned violent.

The PPP took out a Jeevey Pakistan rally from Allama Iqbal Chowk which was led by PPP city president Zahid Bashir Chaudhry.

The police resorted to baton charge when the protesters shouted slogans against the government.

Meanwhile, the PPP leaders asked the government to release the arrested workers and take action against the policemen involved in the incident.

INJURED: A villager on Friday sustained serious bullet injuries in firing by Indian troops in Thathi village in the Sialkot working boundary’s Sucheetgarh sector.

Muhammad Siddique (60) was sitting in the courtyard of his house when the bullet fired by Indian security forces hit him.

He received injuries and was admitted to Sialkot CMH in critical condition.
