NAIROBI, Nov 8: The ICC Intercontinental Cup match between Kenya and Bermuda was declared a draw on Wednesday without a ball being bowled for the second consecutive day following heavy rains at the grounds.

Match umpires, New Zealander Tony Hill and Nepalese Buddhi Pradhan, declared a draw after only two days of play and the remaining two days were washed out by heavy rains pounding the Kenyan capital.

Bermuda had scored 133 in their first innings while Kenya, in reply made 205 with skipper Steve Tikolo and teenager Tanmay Mishra scoring half centuries.

As a result Kenya, on the strength of their first innings lead of 72 runs, were awarded six points, their first points tally after three matches in the same tournament.

And Bermuda, who needed a win to stay in contention for a place in the final, remained pointless.

The two teams are scheduled to play a three match, one-day international series in Mombasa to prepare for the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies.

The first match will be played on Saturday at the Mombasa Sports Club which was awarded a full ODI status by the ICC in September. —AFP
