BARCELONA (Spain), Nov 5: President Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Sunday announced to open Pakistan’s consulate in Barcelona for the benefit of Pakistanis living here.

Addressing a gathering of Pakistani community here in Barcelona, the PML President said Pakistan government has approved the setting up Consulate here so that the community should not go to Madrid, 1000 miles away, for resolving their problems.

He said the consulate will start functioning very soon as the government has nominated the Consul General for Barcelona.

Chaudhry Shujaat said he will meet the interior minister of Spain on Monday and highlight the problems being faced by the Pakistani community and make efforts to resolve them.

He said he would also talk about the release of Pakistanis in the prisons of Spain.—APP
