Wapda obtain big lead

LAHORE, Nov 4: A fighting knock by opener Ahmed Said and an all-round performance by Bilal Khilji helped Wapda earn a massive 127-run lead in the low-scoring Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match against Sui Gas at the Sheikhupura Stadium on Saturday.

Ahmed scored 47 and Bilal, who took five wickets, made 30 as Wapda were all out for 167 after resuming their first innings at 97-5 in reply to Sui Gas’s paltry total of 40. Ahmed hit two fours and Bilal struck five boundaries.Left-arm pacer Samiullah Niazi, who sent back Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq (9) and Mohammad Yousuf (8), finished with impressive figures of 6-42.

By close of play, Sui Gas gave an improved performance in the second innings to close at 125-2.
