BAHAWALPUR, Oct 31: A joint police and wildlife team recovered 15 antelopes (deer) and four peacocks and arrested five people from a house in the Satellite Town area on Tuesday.

According to police, they raided the house of Ali Hasan alias Tipu on a tip and arrested him along with his four accomplices Jamal, Tariq Mahmood, Shahzad and Abdul Rashid.

The recovered animals were handed over to the local zoo management.

CLEAN UP: The city TMA, in a massive operation, demolished encroachments and illegal constructions of around vegetable market and general bus stand.

The vendors and pushcart owners had illegally occupied the road.

The tehsil nazim has urged the shopkeepers to remove illegal constructions voluntarily.

SIT-IN: Government employees took out a protest rally and staged a sit-in on Tuesday under the auspices of APCA near the press club for the acceptance of their demand regarding the arrest of contractors who allegedly assaulted a clerk of the buildings department.

The protest rally was brought out from the office of DO (Buildings) and after parading the main roads reached the press club.
