KARACHI, Oct 31: Sindh Chief Minister’s Adviser Omer Sharif and a delegation of arts council called on Sindh Culture Minister Rauf Siddiqi at his office on Tuesday. The delegation informed the minister about the problems being faced by arts council and sought his help to resolve these problems. The delegation comprised of Talat Hussain, Saifur Rehman Bilgrami, Aniq Ahmed, Rizwan Siddiqi, Ahmed Shah and Idrees Ghazi. Sindh Culture Department Director General Shams Jafarani was also present.

Rauf Siddiqi said that the culture department would extend its full cooperation to arts council and its problems would be solved on priority basis. “Karachi arts council represents not only Sindh but culture of the country across the globe, therefore, there is a dire need to solve its problems,” he added.

The minister was of view that arts council could further be developed and emphasised to upgrade its open air theatre to facilitate visitors. He offered the delegation to take over the charge of Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium for promotion of Sindh culture.

Lauding the services of Rauf Siddiqi, Omer Sharif vowed to refill paling colours of Sindh culture.—PPI
