SUKKUR, Oct 29: Former speaker of the National Assembly Ilahi Bux Soomro has said that Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif should be allowed to return to the country and take part in politics.

Talking to newsmen in Jacobabad on Sunday, he said that at present the entire government machinery was busy defaming politicians.

He said that disinformation about a deal between the government and PPP as well as an agreement with the Sharif family were part of the same propaganda.

He said that if any agreement between the government and the Sharifs regarding his exile to Saudi Arabia existed, there was no harm in making it public.

He said that the options for dialogue should always remain open in politics and insisted that the government must take politicians into confidence to take the country out of the present crisis.

Mr Soomro said that that with the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti, the resistance movement in Balochistan has died down temporarily, and warned that it could take a dangerous turn at any time.

The veteran politician said that every patriotic Pakistani was concerned with the situation prevailing in Balochistan and urged the rulers to take corrective steps to cool down the situation in that province.
