Pemra team seizes more equipment

PESHAWAR, Oct 24: The inspection team of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) NWFP region on Tuesday raided several cable networks in Peshawar and seized equipment of cable operators who were relaying proscribed channels.

According to Pemra officials, the authority had received several complaints about relaying of banned channels in Peshawar by different cable operators.

The Pemra team conducted raid on Z.K. Cable Network in Faqirabad and seized equipment. Similarly, in Hayatabad, raid was conducted on Wideband Cable operator and confiscated the equipment. In other raid in Hayatabad, equipment of Cable world was seized for relaying proscribed channels.—APP
