KARACHI, Oct 24: The municipal administrations of some of the 18 city towns have cancelled Eid holidays of their sanitary staff and ordered them to attend their duties in view of the dengue fever threat.

According to announcements by Shah Faisal, Landhi, Baldia and Saddar towns, the sanitary staff was ordered to attend their duties as usual in view of the rising number of patients suffering from dengue fever.

These towns also announced the establishment of emergency centres and said that officers and staff would be available at these centres round the clock during Eid holidays.—APP
