Zahid sparkles in final

KARACHI, Oct 23: Zahid Raza produced an excellent all-round performance to help ABN-Amro Bank lift the 2nd Aga Khan University Twenty20 Ramazan cricket title at the AKU Ground on Sunday.

Zahid scored 44 and took three for 15 as the bankers defeated AKU-A Staff by eight runs in the final.

Batting first, ABN-Amro made 133 in 18.5 overs. Moiz Mehdi claimed three for 18.

In reply, AKU-A Staff were dismissed for 125 in 19.2 overs despite a fine 59 by Mir Afzal Baig. He struck five fours and two sixes.

Apart Zahid, Nauman Jamil captured three for 24.

Zahid was named Man-of-the-Final as well as the Man-of-the-Tournament. NIB Bank’s Asif Mughal was declared best batsman and Shiraz Ahmed of ABN-Amro the best bowler
