Five injured in building collapse

LAHORE, Oct 22: Five people, including the owner, were injured when a lintel of the second storey of an under-construction plaza collapsed in Harbanspura here on Sunday.

Haji Shaukat, the owner-cum-constructor, was supervising the construction of lintel of his plaza situated near Lal Pul, Gulshan Park, when it caved in.

Shaukat, 45, and labourers Abbas Multani, 30, Yousaf, 25, Tariq, 23, and Fiaz, 25, were trapped under rubble. They were pulled out by the local people and rushed to the Shalimar from where Abbas was taken to the Lahore General Hospital with head injuries.
