SWABI, Oct 22: Police issued a warning here on Sunday against violation of a ban on aerial firing imposed by the district administration during the two Eidul Fitr days. It said anyone violating the ban would be arrested.

Each year, widespread aerial firing follows the announcement of of the sighting of the Eid crescent.

Police officials said the ban would be imposed strictly. They urged people to cooperate with law-enforcement agencies in this regard.

Use of firecrackers has also been banned.

The officials said staff in all police stations and posts in the district had been ordered to arrest those involved in exploding firecrackers.

The shopkeepers selling firecrackers would also be arrested, they said.
