GUJRAT, Oct 20: The brother of Machiwal union council naib nazim was shot dead in

Mandi Bahauddin on Friday morning.

Abid Shah, the brother of naib nazim Shahid Shah, had come to Mandi Bahauddin by his car (IDH-7163) to drop his wife and her aunt. He was on his way back when some car riders intercepted him and sprayed his car with bullets, killing him on the spot.

Mandi Saddar police claimed that they had not received any written application from the family for registration of a case.

Shahid Shah told Dawn by telephone that his brother was shot dead by some relatives over a family dispute.

No case was registered till the filing of this report.

CASE REGISTERED: Kakrali police on Thursday night registered a case against 12 men for murdering three people and injuring four others in Sidwal Kalan.

Three people, including Asghar and Mian Irshad, were murdered and Dr Abdul Aziz, Bashir, Mehtab and Akram were critically injured by some outlaws, including an alleged proclaimed offender Abid Husain.

The accused nominated in the FIR include Abid Husain, Shabbir, Sagheer, Khadim Husain, Nadeem, Nazar, Amanat, Inayat, Sadiq and five unidentified people.

The case was registered on the complaint of former councillor Mohammad Akram.
