ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: The Pakistan Professionals Forum (PPF) on Thursday organized a walk from the Kalsum Plaza on Thursday to express solidarity with Afghan people and denounce the US-led coalition strikes on Afghanistan.
The PPF demanded of the government to stop helping the US in its “unjustified” attacks in Afghanistan.
A spokesman for the forum, Dr Baber, said the US should stop bombing the innocent Afghan women and children.
He asked the UN to start criminal proceedings against the US government for violation of international laws and fundamental human rights. A neutral body of legal experts should be formed to inquire as to who was responsible for the September 11 tragedy, he added.
Participants of the walk carried placards and banners to protest against the double standards of the US and its allies — including the UN — with regard to the Muslim world. Denouncing all forms of terrorism, they demanded that the US attacks on Afghanistan be stopped immediately.
The PPF criticized the government’s support for the US policy. The PPF spokesman added that according to the latest Gallup survey, published in Newsweek , 80 per cent Pakistanis were against the US attacks on Afghan people as well as the Pakistan government’s support for these attacks.
The forum demanded of the government to hold a referendum on the issue.
