QUETTA: Oct 19: The government has allocated Rs320 million for various schemes in water sector. Sources said on Thursday that Rs20 million had been allocated for the Sar Gadagai irrigation scheme of which Rs19 million had already been spent.

The Gujero perennial scheme is being constructed executed at a cost of Rs18 million of which Rs8 million has been spent, Buddo irrigation scheme is being built for Rs14 million of which Rs12 million has been spent.

The Talbee perennial irrigation scheme in Killi Kaur in Kech district will cost Rs23.813 million of which Rs22 million have been utilised.

The project of brick lining of 31 branches of the Patfeeder Canal (Naseer, Judjer, Temple, Mohabpur, Jhatpat, Balan, Bari,Umrani, Rupa and Magsi) is being undertaken at a cost of Rs130 million of which Rs108 million has been spent while Rs23 million has been allocated for rehabilitation of a new canal called RD74 (provincial government’s share 23 per cent) of which Rs3 million has been spent.

Officials said that Rs51 million had been allocated for the construction of Sangsila irrigation scheme in the Dera Bugti area.

They said that Jhatpat flood irrigation scheme was launched at a cost of Rs28 million of which Rs13 million had been spent while Rs30 million had been specified for remodeling of the Nari Canal in Sibi of which Rs15 million had been spent and Rs5 million had been allocated for 2006-07.—APP
