ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) vice-chairman Hafiz Anwar Samawi has appealed to President Gen Pervez Musharraf to take notice of what he called injustices done to quake victims in the district of Bagh by the Islamic Relief organisation.

He said that tall claims by the authorities regarding relief and rehabilitation work were untrue as the ground situation in the quake-hit areas was totally different.

The JKLF vice-chairman said that 40 per cent of the shelterless people had not been paid any compensation.

He said snowing had already started in mountainous areas and expressed the fear that thousands of people, particularly women and children, would die if timely affective measures were not taken.

He said the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority had awarded a contract to the Islamic Relief and alleged that corruption worth of billions had been committed in the contract process.

Meanwhile, On the other hand, the parliamentary party of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in the AJK Legislative Assembly met in Muzaffarabad with Prime Minister Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan in the chair.

The meeting, also attended by AJK President Raja Zulqarnain, expressed satisfaction over the reconstruction and rehabilitation activities in the quake-hit areas.

The parliamentary party was also apprised about the prime minister’s recent visit to Brussels, Britain and United States.
