Active port operations demanded

KARACHI, Oct 19: Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice-President Abdullah Zaki has called for the active operations of Karachi Port and Port Qasim on Monday (October 23) to facilitate the export shipments.

In a press statement, he said that exporters were perturbed over the long holidays that would affect export shipments and demanded urgent measures so that they could meet their deadlines.

It is imperative that a strategy be put in motion that these kinds of situations be taken care of during announcement of holidays so that the country’s global trade is not affected and that the credibility of exporters is enhanced, he said.

The nation’s ports should work round the clock if Pakistan is to develop its economic base, he added.
