MULTAN, Feb 14: The Education department inquiry reveals the administration of the IT Centre in the Government College, Bosan Road, did not follow the agreement.

Executive District Officer (Education) Hameed Raza Siddiqui conducted the inquiry on the direction of Zila Nazim Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

The agreement was signed in 1998 according to which the IT Centre had to construct the building for computer education within three years on college premises. It was also to hire qualified teaching staff for ICS students.

The inquiry gave out that it neither got constructed the building within the prescribed period nor appointed the required staff.

When contacted, EDO Siddiqui said the IT Centre owner had earned millions of rupees during the last couple of years, but he did not want to expend anything for the welfare of students.

The IT centre owner took the plea that the government did not issue him the NOC for the construction of building. The EDO said when the district government had issued him the NOC he started showing reluctance to follow the agreement.

It may be mentioned that the Government College, Bosan Road, has the same reputation as is enjoyed by the Government College in Lahore. But the quality of IT teaching being imparted in the college is bringing bad name to it.
