KOHAT, Oct 16: A factory owner of Kohat kidnapped four months ago was released on Monday. Mohammad Qaleem Paracha was handed over to his relatives near tribal area in Peshawar by a middle man who negotiated a deal with the kidnappers for his release.
He was freed after payment of Rs1 million in ransom.
The victim’s family had paid a certain amount of ransom on five occasions when the kidnappers promised to release Mr Paracha. But each time they backed out asking for more money and solid guarantees from them.
He was kidnapped from his house by tribesmen disguised as businessmen and saying they wanted him to see a plot of land.—Correspondent
