ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: A pre-bid moot for the sale of movable and immovable assets of Services International Hotel, Lahore, on "as is where is” basis was held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Sheikh Ikramullah, secretary, Privatisation Commission.

The basic objective of the moot was to achieve consensus for finalisation of bid documents and respond to the issues/queries raised by the potential bidders, says a handout issued here.

According to a decision of the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation, the successful buyer would construct a five-star industry standard hotel at the prime location of Shahrah-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Lahore.

Nine expressions of interest were received by the Privatisation Commission from the interested parties. Among them six parties participated in the meeting. They are: Associated Group, Hashwani Hotels, Marwat Enterprises, Noor Financial Investment Company, S.A. Builders and Tristar Group.

Shahid Rashid, principal secretary to the governor Punjab, Brig M. Farooq Maan, chairman, Punjab Cooperative Board for Liquidation, Abid Javed Akbar, chairman, National Insurance Corporation, representatives of LDA and senior officials of the Privatisation Commission attended the meeting.
