FAISALABAD, Oct 13: The police claimed on Friday to have seized hundreds of anti-aircraft shells from a scrap dealer’s godown on the Samundri Road. Reports said an officer of the Sargodha Road police station, acting on a tip-off, raided the godown of scrap dealer Habib Ahmad and seized 600 anti-aircraft bullets.

The police have taken Habib into custody and started investigation.

Sources said the scrap dealer informed the raiding party that he got the bullets through auction held in the PAF Sargodha and he showed some documents to corroborate his claim.

Fayyaz Ahsan, who raided the godown, said the bomb disposal squad had confirmed that the bullets were useless.

“We have contacted the PAF officials to confirm Habib’s case,” he said, and added that no case had yet been registered.
