KARACHI, Oct 12: The police have decided to set up watch posts near different shopping centres, main roads and public places to ensure citizens safety.

This decision was taken at a meeting held by the IGP Sindh Jehangir Mirza at the office of TPO Jamshed Town during his visit to the town on Thursday.

CCPO Karachi, DIG Operations, DIG Investigation Zone-I, SDPOs and SHOs of Jamshed Town were also present.

Meanwhile, CCPO Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui on Friday visited various areas and markets of the city, met citizens and shopkeepers, sought their suggestions on further beefing up security measures and issued necessary directives to the police officials.

He also issued directives for combating street crimes, especially incidents of mobile phone snatching in the town. Niaz Siddiqui visited Zaibunnisa Street, Eidgah Cloth Market, Boating Basin, Gulf Shopping Centre and Park Towers.—PPI
