KARACHI, Oct 12: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Fisheries and Livestock Faqir Mohammad Jadam Mangrio, who is also Chairman of the Karachi Fish Harbour Authority, has said that the government is keen to promote the fisheries sector and, for this purpose, taking effective measures to solve the problems being faced by the seafood industry.

Mr Mangrio said he had directed the KFHA MD to accelerate the work on the K-2 Auction Hall so that it could be put into operation soon after the upcoming Eidul Fitr.

He paid a surprise visit to the harbour and inspected the conditions prevailing there. At the KFHA head office, he chaired a meeting to review overall performance of the Authority, and stressed the need for improving the same.
