BAHAWALPUR, Feb 13: Six members of a family were killed when their jeep blew up on Tuesday night after it passed over a landmine near Toba Chakowala close to Indo-Pakistan border at Cholistan desert area, some 100 kilometres from here.

The Lambardar of Chak 82-DB, Yazman Tehsil, along with his wife and children, was going to attend a marriage in his jeep in a border belt village.

The jeep driven by Mohammad Arif blew up with a big bang when it hit the landmine.

Lambardar Naseer Khan, his wife Ashraf Mai, two sons Mazhar Langah (6) and Tanveer Hussain (5), and two daughters Fauzia Bibi (12) and Sofia (8), were killed on the spot.
