ISLAMABAD, Oct 11: The AJK University has withheld result of scores of BA, BSc students for not depositing admission fee, and they have been asked to clear dues to get their result cards, Dawn has learnt. The students appeared as private candidates.

After the deadly October 8, the AJK University announced of waiving admission fee for all students appearing in the BA, BSc exams.

Besides, the university also announced two-semester fee relaxation for its MA, MSc regular students.

When the university noticed that over 5,000 private candidates have submitted their admission forms, the university made a clarification that the relaxation was only for the regular students.

However, the controller examination was advised to continue with the examination but declare results after receiving admission fee.

Now when the university has declared BA, BSc results, private students have been asked to submit their fee in order to get their results.

Talking to Dawn, Muhammad Bilal, one of the affected students argued that at the time of forms’ submission, they were told to deposit only registration fee, as their admission fee has been waived.

Meanwhile, candidates were not provided any kind of information, whether they have to pay their admission fee or not, subsequently they were issued roll number slips and examination were held without any query in this regard.

“Now when the university has announced result, we are being asked to clear dues, which is beyond our comprehension,” he said.

Public Relations Officer Zafar Iqbal said that the relaxation was only for the regular students. “We had informed private students through media, that they have to pay their admission fee.” In response to a question, he said, the university continued with the examination schedule, to save their (students) time.
