Oslo killings raise many questions

GUJRAT, Oct 10: Why a mentally unsound family member was not admitted to any asylum, and why `in a fit of anguish’ he chose to kill only the female members, are the questions which surround the murder of three sisters by their brother all living in Oslo, Norway.

The Qul of the three sisters who were shot dead by their brother were held at Jandanwala in Kharian on Tuesday.

Three daughters of Mian Khan Lohsar were shot dead by one of their brothers last week. The father claims his son was mentally unsound and committed the homicides `in a fit of anguish’.

The girls’ bodies were brought to Jandanwala on Sunday where their funeral prayers were performed.

It is second homicide incident in the recent past in which Pakistani expatriates living in Norway were involved.

Earlier, Rahila (20), a Norwegian national, was allegedly murdered by her parents near Rasool, Mandi Bahauddin, on June 1, 2005. She had contracted love marriage with Sani Ahmad Rizwan who was an Ahmadi. Parents pressured Rahila to take divorce from Rizwan. But, after her refusal, they brought her back to Pakistan and killed her.
