CHAKWAL, Oct 8: A full bench of the Supreme Court on Monday will hear the case of a minor child’s death allegedly due to negligence of a doctor at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital chakwal.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had taken a suo motu notice of the incident, and the full bench had heard preliminarily hearing of the case on September 28.

Chakwal police have registered a murder case under section 315 and 316 against the accused doctor, child specialist Dr Mohammad Amir.

The doctors of Chakwal reacted sharply and both government and private doctors observed 3 days strike against the arrest of Dr Amir which caused great hardships to the people.

Meanwhile, Tanzeem Tahafuz-i-Haqooq-i-Shahriyan Chakwal President Qazi Ghulam Abbas and Federation Taajran President Chaudhry Munir Ahmed, in a press conference, alleged that millions of rupees were embezzled by the Al-Fazal Citizen’s Community Broad that was constituted for the uplift of District Headquarters Hospital Chakwal.

The citizens rights committee further demanded that those government doctors who resigned from the service should be expelled as their strike was unlawful, unwarranted and against the human values.

They demanded a high-level probe into the ‘illegal’ strike of the government and private doctors, and said those who went on strike must face action.
