Gilani praised

LAHORE, Oct 7: PPP leaders at an Iftar party here on Saturday praised former NA speaker Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani for steadfastly facing the bogus cases against him and refusing to accept temptations offered by the government.

MNA Aitzaz Ahsan, Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas, Lahore president Haji Azizur Rehman Chan, Naveed Chaudhry and Zakariya Butt addressed the Iftar party organised by Mr Zahid Zulfikar.

In their brief speeches, the PPP leaders claimed that the party would win the next year’s general elections and Ms Benazir Bhutto would lead the country.

IFTAR: ARD chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim will host an Iftar dinner for ambassadors of various countries in Islamabad on Monday.

A number of important party leaders will also be among the participants.

PML-N: Senior PML-N leaders here on Saturday reiterated their commitment to the Charter of Democracy and ruled out any deal with the government.
