KARACHI, Oct 7: The University of Karachi has rusticated a student for his inappropriate behaviour with a female teacher of the Department of Political Science.

This was announced by a KU spokesman on Saturday. He said that a student of education department identified as Ashfaq Ahmed had been rusticated from the university for a period of two years.

A decision to this effect was taken by the vice-chancellor on the recommendation of the disciplinary committee. The disciplinary committee in its decision said that if the student was found involved in such a behaviour again then he would be permanently rusticated from the varsity.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the general body of the Karachi University Teachers’ Society (KUTS) expressed satisfaction over the decision of the KU disciplinary committee, said a KUTS statement.—APP
