KARACHI, Oct 4: Caravos Trade carrying canola seeds took berth at the multi purpose terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release here on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy remained at 70 per cent on Tuesday as against 90 per cent the previous day where a total of seven ships -- CSAV Jasmine, Chitral, Chemroad Mega, Summit Europe, Sea Master, Cravos Trader and Jin Leng Feng -- were occupying berths to load, offload containers, cement, edible oil, diesel oil, sugar, chemicals, seeds and coal.

A cargo volume of 43,730 tons comprising 12,987 tons imports and 30,743 tons exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,731 containers (TEUs) was handled.

Five ships, Summit Europe, Chemroad Mega, Scan Hansa, Jin Long Feng and CSAV Ningbo, sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours.

Five ships -- CMA CGM Sambhar, San Clement, Ginga Hawk, Great Well and Tassels -– are expected to take berth on Wednesday, while QAI Al-Fuja'a, Saudi Hofuf, Xiang Wan and Kihuland, with containers and chemicals, are due to arrive on Thursday.
