Boxers to plead decision

Published October 4, 2006

LAHORE, Oct 3: Two Pakistani boxers, Faisal Kareem and Mehrullah, will go to Sri Lanka to challenge the decision of the organisers of the 10th South Asian Games, who had declared that both the boxers had tested positive in a random doping test.

Faisal and Mehrullah had claimed gold medals for Pakistan in the games held in Colombo. But the dope test's report would not only deprive them of the medals but a ban may also be imposed. The boxers would travel with Dr. Waqar Ahmad to plead their cases.
