MULTAN, Sept 30: A doctor involved in preparing a wrong postmortem report was arrested after the rejection of his bail by a local court on Saturday.

Mian Channu’s THQ Hospital CMO Asghar Ali Bhutta was booked on the report of Ehsanul Haq. The complainant alleged that accused Zafar Khan, Ansar Khan and Sarfraz had strangled his son and threw his body in the canal on March 28, 2003. He said villagers recovered the body from the dry canal and buried him. He further alleged that the doctor showed in the postmortem report that his son died after being drowned.

According to irrigation department’s report, he said, the Sidhnai Link Mailsi Canal remained closed from March 25 to 31 in 2003. — APP
