123 schemes for quake-hit areas

ABBOTTABAD, Sept 30: The District Reconstruction Advisory Committee has approved 123 schemes for the earthquake-affected areas which will cost Rs1.806 billion and will be completed in three years.

The approval was accorded at a committee meeting presided over by District Nazim Sardar Haider Zaman and attended by National Assembly Deputy Speaker Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob, MPAs Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, Qalandar Khan Lodhi and Nisar Safdar Khan and the army officials engaged in rehabilitation work.

The schemes include 73 water supply projects (estimated cost Rs191.29) 30 inter-city road schemes (Rs155.55 million) and Sherwan-Abbottabad road project (Rs40 million).

Other 20 schemes of Rs730.00 million were approved under the economic recovery plan in livestock, poultry, dairy and agriculture sectors. Ten schemes were approved in fish farming and wildlife sectors.

The schemes will be forwarded to the Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority through its local office for final approval.
