LAHORE, Sept 28: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi said on Thursday President Pervez Musharraf had forcefully represented the country at the international forum during his visit to the US, proving that he was a bold leader, a statesman and above all a patriotic Pakistani.

He was speaking at a meeting of the PML parliamentary party at his secretariat.

The meeting also adopted a resolution paying tributes to the president on his successful visit to the US, says a handout issued here.

The chief minister said the president had voiced the sentiments of Pakistanis in his speeches and interviews and impressed upon the West that there was a need to view the prevalent situation in Muslim societies and Islamic world in its right perspective.

He also effectively countered the allegations levelled against Pakistan and dispelled the wrong impression created about the country, the chief minister said.

The resolution, which was presented by Punjab Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja said the president had courageously presented Pakistan’s stand on various issues owing to which the country’s image and prestige had enhanced in the comity of nations. —Staff Reporter
