SHIKARPUR, Sept 28: Two people were killed by a group of Marfani trobesmen near the Deeya village in the jurisdiction of Hamayoon police station on Wednesday.

Anwar Ali, son of Alam Khan Esani, and Zulfiqar Ali, son of Wazir Ali Umrani, of Garhi Khairo taluka were killed by some Marfani tribesmen when they were on their way to the Wakra village.

The motive behind the murders was said to be old enmity.

On the complaint of Qaim Khan Esani, cousin of the deceased, police have registered a case against Haji Nawaz, Rabu, Bado, Karim Bux and Imu, all Marfanis by caste.

The relatives of the deceased, Ghulam Akbar Jatoi, a retired teacher, and others staged a demonstration outside the office of taluka nazim of Khanpur on Thursday to protest against the inordinate delay in the arrest of accused nominated in the FIR of Ghulam Akbar Jatoi.—BoC
