KARACHI: Complaint centres set up

KARACHI, Sept 24: The nazim of Gulshan Town, Mohammad Wasay Jalil, has declared the central complaint centre of the town as emergency centre during the holy month of Ramazan and asked the people to lodge complaints against sellers involved in overcharging.

Speaking at a meeting held to review arrangements for the month of Ramazan, he said that the complaints could be registered on phone 9230355- 59, according to a statement here on Sunday.

He said all the responsible officers and staff concerned would remain present at the centre, which would also keep a liaison with the town police. Monitoring will also be ensured by the town administration for smooth flow of traffic during Ramazan, he added.

The town nazim said that for the assistance of traffic police, 50 volunteers of the Civil Defence had been deployed at important roundabouts, signals and trade centres. He said that police camps would also be established at markets to check any criminal activity.

LANDHI TOWN: The town municipal administration has established complaint centres at Babar Market and Korangi-5 to control profiteering and traffic situation during Ramazan.

Town Nazim Landhi Mohammad Ismail Qureshi, Naib Nazim Asif Hussain and TMO Mohammad Nazir Lakhani would hold frequent visits to all markets and would check prices of commodities. They would also oversee flow of traffic on arterial roads of the town especially before Iftar.
