KARACHI: Traffic mess at Burnes Road

Published September 25, 2006

KARACHI, Sept 24: As Ramazan begins on Monday, the Burnes Road, leading to M.A. Jinnah Road and Jamia Cloth Market from Fresco Chowk, remains uncarpeted despite nazim's claim that all the roads dug up or damaged during rains would be carpeted by Sept 23.

This road however remains impassable for traffic, owing to trenches and craters left unfilled after laying sewerage lines.

The Burnes Road was dug up about a month back from Fresco Chowk to Jamia Refreshment Centre, (Jamia Cloth Market) for laying sewerage line.

There exists a big trench with an open manhole in front of Jamia Refreshment Centre where traffic mess can be seen the entire day.—PPI
