KARACHI, Sept 23: In a major development, Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara, a well-known horse owner, has been named to head a three-member “Karachi Race Club Racing Committee” which has been constituted recently for bringing improvement in the sport.

The other two members of the committee are KRC administrator, Fakir Syed Aitzazuddin and secretary, Syed Ayaz Hussain Shah Rashdi.

Meanwhile, the racing fraternity has welcomed the setting up of committee and hoped weekly races would now be conducted in a more fair manner.

They were optimistic that all owners, trainers and jockeys would be treated at par. — A. Z.
