LAHORE, Sept 22: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approved an eight-member management team on Friday that will accompany the Pakistan cricket team for next month’s ICC Champions Trophy to be held in India from Oct 7.

Former Test opener Talat Ali Malik, who was appointed as manager in place of former Test captain Zaheer Abbas will not have an assistant this time although PCB General Manager Asad Mustafa had been doing the job on several occasions in the past.

Former Test captain Waqar Younis, who is bowling coach of the team, will only be with the team in India for the first week of the Trophy.

Former leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmad will take over from Waqar for thec rest of the tour. The other officials include team coach Bob Woolmer, Murray Steveson (trainer), Darren Lifson (physio), Abdul Rauf (masseur)and Omer Farooq (video analyst).
