KARACHI, Sept 22: City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil stressing the need for technical training of manpower pledged to facilitate institutes who wanted to establish and run technical education centres in the city.

She told that the city government was reactivating many vocational centres of the city.

The city naib nazim said this while talking to the regional director of National Vocational and Technical Education Commission, Prime Minister Secretariat (Public) Sindh, Humayyun Aqil, chairperson of the Standing Committee for Literacy of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Farhana Iqbal and chairman Mohammad Siddique at her office here on Friday.

Ms Jalil directed the officials concerned to prepare list of all inactive vocational centres, so that their reactivation be made possible. At present there are 76 vocational centres in the city that needed reactivation, she added.

It was told that six-month long training courses on different trades would be started after the reactivation of these centres.--PPI
